Rev. Deborah A. McCaffity is a seasoned faith leader, educator, and housing services administrator with over two decades of experience serving urban and underserved communities. Since 2014, she has faithfully led St. George's African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lewes, Delaware, where she continues to inspire spiritual growth, social engagement, and community outreach.
Prior to her current role, Rev. McCaffity served as Residential Manager at Greenhope Housing Services (2012–2013), overseeing supportive housing for women with histories of homelessness and mental health challenges. Her leadership encompassed everything from supervising clinical and maintenance staff to managing grants, contractors, and program reports—all while ensuring the well-being of vulnerable residents.
Her pastoral journey includes tenures at Mt. Carmel AME Church in New Rochelle, NY (2010–2011), and dual roles at St. James and St. Philip AME Churches in New York City (2004–2010). In addition to her ministry, Rev. McCaffity is an experienced educator. She has taught Old Testament at the NY Conference Ministerial Training Institute and led courses such as “The Role of the Black Church in the Urban Community” at the College of New Rochelle.
